Yield For Red Emergency Lights

Red flashing lights

You may notice private vehicles with flashing Red Emergency Lights. These are members of the Ogallala Volunteer Fire Department who are responding to the station for a fire or medical emergency.

Our fire and EMS personnel are volunteers who respond to emergencies from their homes or places of work. We make every effort to arrive at the fire department safely. However, in a situation where every second counts the use of flashing red emergency lights allows our members to be more visible to the public when responding.

You can become an important part of our lifesaving team simply by letting us pass.

It will only take you a few seconds - but in an emergency seconds count!

Please help us respond quickly and safely by pulling over when you see our flashing lights
