Donate to the OVFD

The Ogallala Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer organization which does much for the community. Our members donate countless hours each year for training and working to improve our department. After our "regular" fire fighting and EMS duties we also:

  • Create the largest 4th of July fireworks show between Omaha and Denver
  • Provide fire prevention education for students and families
  • Are proud to have a state and nationally respected Honor Guard

Our members are more than happy to donate their time to activities that better our community, but all of these community-first activities cost money. While we are funded through tax-payer funds and billing for EMS services, putting on these extra activities is costly. The fireworks themselves cost nearly $30,000 a year and is supported mainly through donations from the public.

Donations are accepted at any time. You can donate by sending a check to the fire department, dropping a donation off in person, responding to one of our mailing letters, or online (in the future) using PayPal.

The OVFD is a non-profit organization and your contribution may be tax-deductible.
